Hi gang. I'm Tim Ritter, in Fair Grove, MO. My maternal grandmother, Mary Catherine Hays, was raised in Winterset, IA. Her father was Roy Hays, born 1873 in Winterset. Her mother was Blanche Thomson or Thompson. Their marriage certificate says Thompson, so I go with that. I have no records as of yet on her family. I'm currently wading through the Hays side, but not much luck on the Thompsons. All I know is she was born in 1875, and died June 10, 1964. By the way, the yearbook note pertains to the fact that I have my grandmother's yearbooks from 1930-1932 for Winterset School. They are in perfect shape, and if anyone has ancestry which may be in these books, I would be happy to go through the books and scan a pic and email you the file! Just let me know. Happy Hunting.... Tim

Cant be of direct help, Palmers in Winterset are not our line. However, our line of palmers first showed up in Keokuk County , Keota Iowa right after the civil war. there were Palmers already there, Old Keota Eagle adds show them to be in the Funiture and Hardware business. One was a dentist. Do not have any names , but can check in Washington Co. Gen Lib. for matches if you wish. If you are certain that they came right on by Washington and Keokuk Co., it would be a waste of your and my time. cdp AnnJMM@aol.com wrote: > My Madison County surname is PALMER. > > Charles and Hannah (prob JUDKINS) PALMER moved to Madison County from the > state of Maine sometime between 1867 and 1870. My Madison County surname is PALMER. Charles and Hannah (prob JUDKINS) PALMER moved to Madison County from the state of Maine sometime between 1867 and 1870. According to the 1900 census records, Charles, age 76, was a "hotel keeper" living in Walnut Township, Madison County, Iowa. They had 8 children--Josiah, Goram, Ellen, Almon, Bradbury, Cora, Cyrus, and one whose name and gender remains unknown to me right now. Almon married Della Knight, and they eventually moved to Kamiah, Idaho with two of four children. This is my husband's maternal line of which he knows very little. Would love to "meet" a cousin out there! Ann Morey Hamilton, Ohio
