The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, April 8, 1909 The city administration changed last night and the new council was sworn in and the new Mayor, GEO. F. CARPENTER, was inaugurated. There was no inaugural "bawl," so it is said, neither Mayor CONNEL nor one of the retiring councilmen even shedding a tear as they went forth into the outward world. Following is the organization of the council and other appointive officials: Finance. - HICKMAN, KULL and BOSS. Fire. - HOOPER, GASSER and BOSS. Streets and Alleys. - BOSS, HOOPER and KULL. Paving and Sidewalk. - GASSER, HICKMAN and KULL. Electric. - KULL, HOOPER and HICKMAN. Health. - GASSER, HOOPER and BOSS. Parks. - HOOPER, GASSER and KULL. Judiciary. - HICKMAN, BOSS and KULL. Water and Sewer. - BOSS, HICKMAN and HOOPER. IRA BOYLAN was retained as Marshall and THOMAS HUFFMAN, nightwatch. ROBERT MCCOY was selected as Street Commissioner. L.F.
