O'Neal House This Queen Anne style home was built in 1884 by banker Oliver T. Poyntz. It is the northernmost of the "Honeymoon Row" houses on Lake Minnie (Cherokee). The second owner was Jessie Malory (sic; Mallory) Thayer, who wed William R. O'Neal in 1914. The home was shown near the beginning of the 1985 motion picture "D.A.R.Y.L.", which also used the lake across the street for the splashdown scene near its end.
