The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 8, 1906 At the home of MR. GRANT LAFAVRE, in Washington Township, Lucas County, Iowa, on Feb. 28th, 1906, at 6:30 p.m. occurred the marriage of MISS LULU LAFAVRE, daughter of MR. and MRS. JEFFERSON LAFAVRE of Washington Township, to MR. CLARENCE LOCKRIDGE, son of MR. and MRS. ANDREW LOCKRIDGE of the same place. Some forty guests were present to witness the ceremony. At the above hour, the strains of a wedding march were played by Miss Nellie Thompson at the organ, at the close of which, the sliding doors of an adjoining room were opened, and the bride and groom appeared standing under a marriage bell, with a background of potted plants in bloom and other decorations appropriate to the occasion. The bride wore a neat gown of white silk mulle. Rev. Chas. Pickford officiated at the marriage. A repast for the inner man to which ample justice was done, was enjoyed by all present. These young people are well and favorably known in Washington Township, and will soon be "at home" to their friends on the farm of MR. SHERMAN LOCKRIDGE near the Center Church. The best wishes of their friends will follow them as they begin life's voyage together. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert October 1, 2004 [email protected]
