    3. The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, March 15, 1906 The many friends in Chariton and throughout the county are saddened by the news of the death of MISS CORDELIA WRIGHT, daughter of MR. and MRS. GEO. WRIGHT of Warren Township, which occurred at Boulder, Col., on Sunday night, March 11, 1906, after an illness of about sixteen months with consumption. She was taken ill while teaching at Malcolm, this State, and last fall, accompanied by relatives, she went to Boulder in the hope that the climate there would prove beneficial. But the fond hopes were not realized and on Sunday night she passed peacefully away. The remains were brought to Chariton yesterday, accompanied by her heartbroken parents and brother LUCIEN, and taken to the home of her uncle, LAUREL BOSS. Today at eleven o'clock, funeral services were held at May Baptist Church, conducted by Rev. F.B. Palmer of this city, after which interment took place at Derby. CORDELIA WRIGHT was born in Warren Township, this county, in January 1880, and grew to young womanhood there. She graduated from Drake University in Des Moines and later took a normal course at that institution. She was one of this county's most efficient and successful teachers, and one of our most highly esteemed young ladies. She possessed a sunny disposition and those traits of character which are always so much admired. She had been a member of the Baptist Church for many years and daily lived her Christian faith. She is survived by her parents, two brothers, LUCIEN and EUGENE WRIGHT, and one sister, MRS. NELLIE MILLER of Whitebreast Township. In their great grief these sorrowing ones have the sincere sympathy of the entire community. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert October 1, 2004 [email protected]
