The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, January 14, 1909 On Wednesday evening of last week something over fifty of the neighbors and friends of MRS. MAY ALLEN gathered at her home and gave them a farewell surprise before their departure for Quincy, Ill. Oysters, peaches and cake were served and all had a good time in spite of the cold, windy night. As the friends departed it was with the wish that their sojourn might be pleasant and profitable. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Another column of the same date: MISS FLO ALLEN, daughter of MR. and MRS. J.H.
