Hello Richard, [et al] Lucas Co., Marriages, [LCGS, p. 31] : Just noticed in reviewing the marriages of the Melville children that one of them married on the same day as a Curtis/Chance marriage. As mentioned previously, there's a link to Harriet Curtis, sister of Lot & Thomas Curtis, Jr. via Wm. B. Chance. So, the likelihood is that these families knew each other, hence the double wedding. :) An educated guess. :) Clarinda E. Curtis, 26, m. John M.
