Fellow Lucas Listers- I was in Chariton three weeks ago. Some are under the impression that the Royal Rest Motel is no longer open. That is not the case. It is under the management of Mr. Kirit Patel. The Perrin Motel is long gone. There are no other lodgings in Chariton I'm aware of, but there are several in Osceola, 15 miles west, including a decent Best Western next door to a great diner which serves a wonderful Iowa pork loin sandwich!
