    3. The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, January 11, 1906 Postmaster L.F. MAPLE has received word that the inspector will not be here until the 16th. At that time the question as to where the post office will permanently be located will be decided. MR. KUBITSHEK, the owner of the building where the post office is temporarily quartered, will submit a proposition to furnish the room with new fixtures, steam heat and light. HOLLINGER and LARIMER will also submit a proposition to erect a new building for the post office west of their clothing store and facing the Bates House. The building contemplated would be two stories high, 42 x 42, and constructed of pressed brick and stone. It would have light from four sides and would be steam heated with electric lights and tiled floors, hot and cold water fixtures, sanitary closets and fire proof vault. It would be furnished with the most modern fixtures and equipment, and would have prism glass windows on the sides and two entrances on the street with plate glass across the front.
