    3. The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, August 8, 1907 Attended by three little nieces, MISS MARY MCCLELLAND, of North Beaver Township, became the happy bride of MR. JOHN Q. WERTS of Russell, Iowa, Wednesday, at one o'clock, the bride's cousin, Rev. Raymond G. McClelland, of Fredrickstown, O., officiating. The nuptial knot was tied at the MCCLELLAND homestead, the home of the bride's brother and sister, MR. and MRS. HARRIS MCCLELLAND, in the presence of more than fifty guests. The only attendants were JULIA MCCLELLAND of Westfield, N.Y., MARY LAUGHLIN and MARGARET MCCLELLAND, of Mt. Jackson, the bride's nieces as flower girls. The three maidens were dressed in airy white gowns and carried baskets of pink and white sweet peas. The bride's gown was a white batiste with val lace trimming. She carried white roses. Decorating the house with sweet peas and nasturtiums, pink and white being the colors that predominated. A breakfast followed the ceremony and during the afternoon MR. and MRS. WERTS departed for an eastern trip, intending to return to North Beaver in about two weeks. After a brief stay in this vicinity MR. and MRS. WERTS will then go to their western home at Russell, Iowa, and take up their residence. Guests at the wedding from a distance were Prof. and Mrs. W.N. Aiken, Mrs. W.L. Aiken, Mr. and Mrs. H.E. McGoun, of this city; Mrs. E.S. Conier, of Barberton, O., Mrs. Hunt of Westfield, N.Y., Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Wallace of Youngstown, Miss Anna L. Norton of Pittsburg. -- EDINA (O.)
