The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, February 15, 1906 A quiet wedding occurred at the home of MR. and MRS. ALBERT PETERSON on Sunday evening, Feb. 11, 1906, at 6:30 o'clock, the contracting parties being their son, ROBERT ELVIN PETERSON and MISS SARAH ELLEN SHELTON. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Fred B. Palmer of the Baptist Church in the presence of the relatives and a few intimate friends. MISS BESSIE DISMORE acted as bridesmaid and MR. CHARLES G. WHEELER officiated as groomsman. The bride was attired in a becoming gown of white linen and presented a neat appearance. After congratulations had been proffered, an elegant wedding supper was served. The bride is a daughter of MR. and MRS. CALEB SHELTON and has resided in Chariton from childhood. For some time she has been one of the efficient salesladies in Palmer's Department Store. By her courteous manners she has made many friends. She is bright and capable and will prove a congenial helpmate. The groom has resided in this city for several years and is employed as a brick mason. He is industrious and energetic and in every way worthy of the bride he has won. The happy couple will reside with his parents until spring when they expect to move to Colorado. The Leader joins their innumerable friends in extending congratulations and wishes them a long, happy and prosperous wedded life. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert September 26, 2004 [email protected]
