    3. The Chariton Patriot Chariton, Iowa Thursday, August 4, 1875 Norwood, July 28th, 1875. Editor Patriot: -- The new Church house in Ottercreek Township, belonging to the United Brethern in Christ, was dedicated to the worship of Almighty God, Sabbath; the 28th day of July, 1875, by Bishop J.J. Glosbrenner, of Virginia The day was pleasant. Though the house is large and commodious for a country house, it was said that one third of the people could not get seats. Its size is 32x48, with a sixteen foot ceiling, and neatly furnished throughout. The cost was eighteen hundred dollars. It is said that this occasion drew the largest congregation that ever met together in the township. Enough money was raised and guaranteed to liquidate all the indebtedness, thus the house is free to God and His cause. -- Rev. Wm. Jacobs. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Copied by Nancee(McMurtrey)Seifert October 19, 2005 iggy29@rnetinc.net 'A Closed Mouth Gathers No Foot.'
