The Chariton Leader, Chariton, Iowa Thursday, April 29, 1909 C.H. POND and MISS JESSIE H. NICKELL, of Lucas, were joined in wedlock, on Wednesday evening, April 28, at the residence of MR. and MRS. W.E. HANKS, in this city, Rev. Godsel of Garden Grove, officiating. The couple represents two of the worthy young people of the county and friends congratulate them and wish them all the success possible in life. The bride is the daughter of MR. and MRS. JASPER NICKELL and has resided in Lucas County the greater part of her life and is a most exemplary and matter-of-fact young lady. The groom is an industrious young man of business tact and well equipped for the responsibilities he has assumed. He conducts the dray and transfer business at Lucas and the Leader is pleased to write him down as not belonging to that too numerous class of young men whose aim in life is to shun manly toil.
