The son of James Vernon and Hazel Dell Graham Wiederrecht, he was born March 14, 1919 at Wapello. He married Lucille F. Mehmken on August 9, 1950 at Wapello. She preceded him in death on December 11, 1999. Jim graduated from Wapello High School in 1937. He received a Business Administration Industrial Management degree from UCLA in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II in the Mediterranean Theatre. Jim was a farmer. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Sperry, Iowa, the WBCCI (an international airstream trailer group), and the Experimental Aircraft Association. He enjoyed flying and scuba diving. He is survived by his daughter, Connie & Robert Britton of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee; his son, Thomas P. Wiederrecht of Colorado Springs, Colorado; his daughter, Carol Wiederrecht of Seattle, Washington; three grandchildren; two great grandsons; and two sisters, Annabele Hylbak of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Helen L. Johnson of Silverton, Oregon. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lucille 'Lucy'; and two brothers, Edwin L. Wiederrecht and Harlan Wiederrecht. He will be cremated and services will be at a later date at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, Iowa, with burial at the Harrison Cemetery at Wapello.
