The daughter of Mark C. and Lucille Abbott Strawhacker, she was born June 24, 1923 at Oakville. She married Billy C. Foor on November 27, 1945 at Wapello. He preceded her in death on October 29, 1999. Lois graduated from Oakville High School. She worked at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant at Middletown during WW II and then at Sylvania at Burlington for eight years. She retired as the school cook in 1987 from the Wapello Community School District. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church at Wapello and a charter member of the TOPS at Wapello. She enjoyed her grandchildren's sports and school events as well as reading, baking, and flowers. She is survived by two sons, Kenneth Foor and David & Dianna Foor both of Wapello; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; three sisters, Marilyn & Jim Mintun of Burlington, Jean Hughes of Arab, Alabama, and Joann & Nelson Wehner of Independence; and two brothers, Russell Strawhacker of Missouri and Marion and Sharon Strawhacker of Ft. Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy; and four brothers, Darrell, Richard, Donald, and Roy. The funeral ceremony for Lois Foor will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, January 4, 2008, at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, with Rev. James H. Huston and Rev. Julie Wehner officiating. Burial will follow at the Wapello Cemetery. Friends may call from noon to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home where the family will meet friends from 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Fund has been established for the benefit of the First Presbyterian Church at Wapello.
