Would have appeared in the local paper June 1963. The clipping was handed down to me from elderly relatives. Submitted by Michele Kemp Shockley. Rex Edward Kemp Mr. Rex Edwin Kemp, 57, formerly of the Grandview area, died unexpectedly June 8 at Ft. Worth, Tex., where he had been living. He was born Mar. 3, 1906 at Columbus Junction, the son of Eldora Gray and Edwin O. Kemp and was married June 4, 1924 to Helen Schafer.  He married Audry Royce at Omaha, Ned., in July, 1946.  He was a member of the Church of God in Louisa County. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Keith of Des Moines and Arlo of Memphis, Tenn.; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Stange, Muscatine; two sisters, Mrs. Lynn Paullins and Mrs. Paul Verdow, both of Burlington, his mother, of Burlington; and six grandchildren. His father and a sister are dead. Services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Community church at Grandview, the Rev. G.A. Saathoff officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview cemetery. The body will arrive Wednesday at the Giles funeral home.
