I am looking for help with the Schafer family. I have Leona E. Littrel b. 1906 in Louisa or Muscatine County and is buried in Letts Cemetery in Louisa County. She was married to Ray M. Schafer b. 1897 and is also buried in Letts Cemetery. Can anyone help me find the family for Ray Schafer? Leona Littrel is from my family line. Ray Schafer was the son of John Henry Schafer and Nellie Michael. His siblings were John Schafer and Lulu Schafer. I don't have the dates immediately available for these folks but they are available. Ray's grandparents were John Schafer, b. 1840 in Niedervorschuetz, Germany, and Anna Hucke, b. about 1840 also. John served in the U. S. Army during the Civil War. Ray's line has been traced back into the mid-1700's in the Niedervorschuetz area.
