I believe that this appeared in the Burlington Hawk Eye, but the clipping was handed down to me with no identifying information. Submitted by Michele Kemp Shockley. Anton Weyer BURLINGTON – Anton Weyer, 81, 1809 Foster St., Muscatine, died Tuesday at Muscatine General Hospital. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Prugh’s Chapel, Burlington. Rev. John Vickers will officiate. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 9 this evening at the funeral home. Anton Weyer was born Oct. 4, 1897, in Des Moines County, the son of John and Elizabeth Wiedeman Weyer. His marriage to Helen Schafer took place July 16, 1961, in Muscatine. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Burlington and was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Mr. Weyer was a retired employee of the U.S. Borax Co. of Burlington. Survivors include his wife, two stepsons, Arlo Kemp of Arnold, Mo. And Keith Kemp of Anchorage, Alaska; one step-daughter, Mrs. Don (Shirley) Stange of Muscatine; and one brother George of West Des Moines.
