I know we still have some former members of the Louisa Co. Genealogical Society subscribed to our mailing list and you are still considered our members although we function more as a committee with no dues. Meetings are still held at regular times so you haven't been abandoned altogether. There are just fewer active members locally now. There are some things in my "to do" pile that you have shared with me over the years with the intent that they go on line. Some of you have helped identify individuals in school photos and I have really appreciated the help. I have been on a bit of a sabbatical since August 11th when I had extensive back surgery and have been limited in my time spent on the computer. It doesn't hurt to remind me if you can't find something that you thought should have been on line by now. I am back working on files and hope to do much better when the holidays are over. Sometimes it just takes a simple question for me to think of something in the works several months ago. Sorry folks, I haven't intentionally been ignoring you. Connie Street has been doing the IaGenWeb site in recent years and I know she also will appreciate anything you want to share with her. She is also now the new manager for and works at the Heritage Center 12 hours a week close to that wonderful library so many have helped build. We don't work in competition and are good friends but as very independent people, we can provide more data for you with the IaGenWeb site and the LCGC site in somewhat different formats. I am hooked on JAlbum now and love working with these old buildings, but I am still interested in other things as well. Both websites came into existence about the same time and I let the Louisa GenWeb site go when I took over the Iowa in the Civil War and the Washington Co. GenWeb sites and felt I wasn't doing them all justice. Both of us are dedicated to bringing genealogical resources on line to help other researchers as we forge ahead. Thank you for your patience.
