DATE: 8/4/2008 at 09:14:53 Surnames: KEEVER,PHILLIPS Louisa County Times August 18, 1886 Page 4 Mrs. Phillips, wife of Samuel Phillips, died Sunday, August 8th, after a long sickness. Her complaint being dropsy. She was in her 66th year. The family came to this county in 1836 and settled in Grandview township. She was the mother of 12 children, 7 of whom are living. Rev. Micajah Reeder preached the funeral discourse. This brings up the recollection that 40 years ago he preached the funeral sermon at the grave of her sister, Charlotte Keever, who was killed by lightning under very peculiar circumstances which are still remembered by the old timers. Note - She is buried in Westbrook Cem on 9 Aug, 1886. This Cemetery is also known as Kiser Cem.
