Last Sunday afternoon she suffered a paralytic stroke, from which she could not recover. Deceased was aged about 69 years, and was a native of Ohio. She came to this county in an early day with her parents, residing in Elm Grove township. In the year 1888 she was united in marriage to Mr. Griswold, and together they made their horne in Columbus City township until about twelve years ago when they came to Wapello, which has since been their home. Besides the aged husband, deceased leaves three brothers and one sister to mourn her death. They are: Fred Johnston, of Clark County, Iowa, William Johnston, of Seattle, Wash., J. B. and Louisa Johnston, of Columbus Junction. The funeral services will be held from the home in this city this Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Wickwire, pastor of the Presbyterian church of Columbus Junction. Interment will occur in the Oakland cemetery, west of Wapello. We will endeavor to secure a complete obituary notice for our next issue.
