I am trying to locate some information about the ancestors of my niece's husband. The most recent information I have for Michael Ryan [the ancestor/subject] is from the 1910 US Census. Michael Ryan is listed in the household of Attis [sic] Atlas Bird in a residence on the Muscatine Road. Michael is listed as his father-in-law and is an 89 year old widower. Michael was born in Ireland about 1821 and, if I have the correct person, served in the Civil War. I believe I have the correct information regarding Michael's wife. From a database on the Louisa County web site: Ryan, Mary Jane (Hart); born 1833, died or buried 1905; buried: Grandview. Wife of Michael Ryan. Census enumerations prior to 1910 which include Michael's wife list her as Mary Jane although the stated age is not always consistent with the 1833 birth year. > > Initially, I would like to find out the date and place of death for Michael Ryan. I would presume that he died in Grandview. I would also like to confirm my proposed connection between the Mary Jane (Hart) Ryan and Michael Ryan. > > If anyone can respond directly to this inquiry that would be terrific!
