VAN HORN, 83, of Rock Island, Illinois, died Thursday, February 27,(1984) at Franciscan Hospital. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, at Hodgson Funeral Home with Rev. Donald TYLER of First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Burial was at Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery. He was born September 2, 1902, in Columbus City, the son of William H. VAN HORN and Emma HUMISTON VAN HORN. He married Prudence MARTINEY on July 1, 1950 in Rock Island. He was employed as a carpenter by the former Mason and Ellis Contractors, retiring in 1970. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Richard of Scottsdale, Arizona, and William of Chicago, Illinois; three grandchildren; and one sister, Dorothy SMITH of Columbus Junction, Iowa Source: Loose clipping, no publication info.
