Peden Bacon Died in Kentucky Mrs. J. P. Bacon, 77 year old resident of Summer Shade, Kentucky, died suddenly Sunday afternoon at her home. She had been in ill health for a number of years, but lived a fairly active life, and had attended church services Sunday morning shortly before her death. She was the daughter of the late W.H. and Addie McFarland of Eighty Eight. Mr. and Mrs. Bacon lived for a number of years in the Wyman and Shellbark neighborhoods and a letter from Mrs. Bacon was printed in the Gazette a few weeks ago. The widow of the late J.P. Bacon who preceded her in death a little more than two years ago, she was a lady highly repected by all who knew her in her home community and elsewhere. Survivors include a brother, Willie McFarland of Decatur, Illinois and a sister Mrs. W.J. Dossey, Glascow. Funeral services were conducted Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the Summer Shade Baptist Church of which she was a devoted member with burial in the Summer Shade Cemetery under the direction of the McMurtrey Funeral Home. Attending the funeral from out of town were Mr. and Mrs. Willie McFarland and Mrs. Maxie Lee Miller, Decatur, Illinois and Mrs. James Fair, Mt.
