Services were Thursday, June 30, 1988, at 1:30 p.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home with Rev. George Yetter officiating. Burial, with military rites, was at the Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Bain was born May 18, 1901, at Knoxville, a son of William and Gertrude Beebee Bain. His marriage to Hazel Flood took place September 24, 1939, at Kahoka, Missouri. He was an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Wapello VFW. For 19 years he was employed as a heavy equipment operator with the Muscatine county road maintenance crew. Survivors include his wife, Hazel; a son, Robert; a daughter, Doris; a step-son, Clifford Welker of Ottumwa; two grandchildren; and two sisters, Wilbertha Cutkay of Madison, Wisconsin; and Kathleen Fitchner of Billings, Montana.
