"Frosty" Aspelmeier, 71, of 205 S. Adams St., Burlington, died at 6 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 1991, at his home. Born May 25, 1920, in Des Moines County, he was the son of Elmer and Emeline Jamison Aspelmeier. He married Juanita Peck July 4, 1951, in Davenport. He was employed at Lehigh Leopold, retiring in February 1982 with 18 years of service. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and United Methodist Men. He was an Air Force veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Shirley Mercer, Houston, Texas; one brother, Walter Aspelmeier, East Moline, Ill.; three sisters, Pauline Stapp, Columbus Junction, Frances Smith, Rock Island, Ill., and Carol Skains, Houston, Texas; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews. The service for Mr. Aspelmeier was held Oct. 21, 1991 at the Lunning Chapel with Rev. George Weitzel officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetary, rural Wapello. A memorial has been established.
