Allison, 74, of Muscatine, died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at the Veteran's Hospital in Iowa City. Burial will be at a later date at the Indian Creek Cemetery near Wapello. Online condolences for the Allison family may be left at www.wittichfuneralhome.com. Mr. Allison was born on Jan. 2, 1931, in McKenzie, Tenn., the son of Jessie L. Allison and Willie Boyd. He had been a resident of Muscatine since the early 1950s. He married Janise Kemp on June 21, 1958, in Muscatine. She preceded him in death on Sept. 18, 2005. He had worked as an electrician at Thatcher Plastics for more than 25 years, retiring in 1994. He enjoyed spending time with family, traveling and socializing.. He served in the U.S. Navy for 5 years. He served on the U.S. Pacific Reserve Fleet, aboard the American Navel Fighting Ship, the U.S.S. Tucson, in San Diego, Calif., from 1848-1952. Survivors include his son, Bill Allison and wife Lorrie of Wilton; son-in-law Lynn Murphy of Conesville; three daughters, Debbie Cupps and husband James of Columbus City, Cindy Anderson of Muscatine, Wanda Miller and husband Davy of Carmi, Ill.; eight grandchildren, James Chadd and special friend, Belinda Fox, of Muscatine, Becky Overton and husband Bubba of Conesville, Selena Corwin of Muscatine, Shanna Allison of Florida, Trevor Anderson of Muscatine, Austin and Dylan Allison of Wilton and Jacob Leibbrand of Musatine; nine great-grandchildren, Ali Overton of Conesville, Joleen Allison of Chicago, Ill., Janna Allison of Waterloo, Breanna Corwin of Waterloo, Levi Parkes of Mediapolis, Joshua Parkes Jr. of Muscatine, Destiny Allison of Mediapolis, and Mercedes Allison of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, Bobby Allison of Jackson, Tenn, Pat Wright of Huntingdon, Tenn.; four sisters, Doris Wooters of Huntingdon, Tenn., Pat Wright of Huntingdon, Tenn., Carol Sue French of Hollow Rock, Tenn. and Joan Delveau of Davenport. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, two daughters, Jessica Allison and Vicky Murphy, and one sister Mildred Garrett.
