Skipto DATE: 3/6/2009 at 15:10:10 Surnames: ALLEN,HINKLE,RICH,JENNINGS,ARTHUR,BUCK The Columbus Gazette Mrs. Ruth Allen, 85, of East Kincaid Trailer Court, Mount Pleasant, died at 3:30 p.m. Monday, December 31, 1990, at the Henry County Health Center. Born June 11, 1905, in Wayland, she was the daughter of Philip H. and Ella L. Hinkle Rich. She married Warren R. Allen June 25, 1924, in Mount Pleasant. He died September 18, 1985. She was a clerk at the Penney's store in Mount Pleasant for several years. She had worked at the Rahlfing's store in Morning Sun and was a cook at the Morning Sun School. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mount Pleasant, the UMW, Eastside Mothers Club, and Coterie. She was a 50-years member and past worthy matron of Chapter 494 of the Order of Eastern Star. Surviving are two daughters, Betty Jennings, Lockridge, and Mrs. Ardith (Clifford) Arthur, Perris, California; one sister, Florence Buck, Mount Pleasant; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. The service for Mrs. Allen was at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 4, at the Weir Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant, with Rev. Debra Kiesey officiating. Burial was in the Forest Home Cemetery at Mount Pleasant. Memorials have been established for the Henry County Health Center Life Line System and the Henry County Heart Fund.
