Weber, aged 89 years, sho spent the greater part of his active life in Louisa County, died at 8 a.m. Monday, in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Will Miller, Maryville, Mo., with whom he and his wife had made their home the past few months. Mr. Weber suffered a fractured hip in a fall recently on the stairs at his daughter's home, and failed to rally. Mr. Weber, the son of George and Fredericka Weber, was born in Swatzburg, Rudelstadt, Germany, Jan. 8, 1847. He came to America and settled in this community when two years of age. He owned a 135-acre farm adjoining Wapello to the west, and had operated that farm until failing health forced his retirement. On March 30, 1874, he married Ella J. Peters in this place, and 9 children were born to them. Mr. Weber was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church, and he is the last of the immediate family. Surviving is the widow and the following children: George Weber, Columbus Junction; Mrs. W.A. Miller, Maryville, Mo.; Anna McCartney, Butte, Nebr.; Mrs. L.J. Shipman, Elkhorn, Wis.; Mrs. Dave Torbert, Granite Falls, Minn.; Ben Weber, Platte, Nebr.; Mrs. Henry Winters, Des Moines; a son and a daughter died in infancy. The body was returned here and funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, in charge of Rev. T. Warren. Burial was in the Wapello Cemetery.
