Mrs. Rachael R. Abbott, 88, died Saturday morning, February 25, 1984, at the Simpson Memorial Home in West Liberty, where she had resided for the past eight years. She was a former resident of Conesville. Services were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Snider Funeral Home in West Liberty, The Rev. Frank Greenwood officiated. Burial was in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. The daughter of Ben Franklin and Cora Thomas Brookhart, she was born June 26, 1895, in Muscatine County. Her first marriage was to James P. Holladay. She later married Isaac Abbott. She was a former member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Davenport. Mrs. Abbott was a retired employee of the J.I. Case Co., Bettendorf. Survivors include two sons, Gaylord Holladay of Bettendorf and James Holliday of Knoxville; one daughter, Dorothy, address unknown; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three step-sons, Rex Abbott of Des Moines, Donald Abbott of Columbus Junction and Harold Abbott of Glendora, California; and one sister, Edna Moody of Demver, Colorado. She was preceded in death by both husbands.
