Ashby, age 80, 212 Adams St., Burlington Medical Center Wednesday, May 4, 1994. He was born November 1, 1913 in Wapello, the son of John and Rosanna Lamb Ashby. He married Dorothy Riley September 2, 1939 in Washington, Iowa. He was maintenance at Hotel Burlington, worked for Burlington Milk Producers Coop for 15 years, J.I. Case for 15 years and an independent truck driver for the Rock Quarry near Kingston. Survivors include: his wife Dorothy, Burlington; four sons, Daryl, James, Melvin all of Burlington, and Larry of Tucson, Ariz.; 2 daughters Linda Sue Smith and Donna Heland of Burlington; step daughter Audrey Klinkerman of Denver, Colo., a brother Robert Ashby Burlington, 21 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Services were Friday, May 6, 1994 1:30 p.m. at Lunning Chapel with Chaplain Shirley Bliven officiating. Burial at Aspen Grove Cemetery. A memorial has been established. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
