The daughter of John and Lilly (Flitch)McChesney, she was born May 8, 1906 at Toolesboro, Iowa. She was maried to Kenneth Baker, who died in 1967. She was a graduate of the Wapello High School; she owned and operated the Wapello Hotel for several years, and raised and bred shetland ponies. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wapello and was a 71 year member of the Wapello O.E.S. Survivors include: one nephew Joiner Yakle of Wapello; one niece, Joy Paulson of Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Dale and Dean; three sisters, Erma, Alma, and Ruth; and one nephew, David Frese. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 25, 1999, from the Wapello Cemetery, the Rev. Mary Pugh officiating. Open visitation was Wednesday afternoon at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello. A memorial has been established for the Wapello Ambulance and Rescue. Wapello Republican 25, March, 1999
