Allen, son of Samuel C. and Mary Painter Allen of Columbus City, passed away at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital at Davenport, January 25th after an illness of several Years. Mr. Allen was born August 10. 1910 and spent his early life here. He was aged 56 years, 5 months and 15, days. He married Iona Burtoft in 1952. Mr. Allen owned and operated Butch's Barber Shop at Princeton, Illinois for 15 years. He was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are his wife, a step-daughter and one step-son of East Moline; three step-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Floyd Rutt, Mrs. Ray Greene, Mrs. Jessie Gentzler of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Kate Super of Phoenix, Arizona. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. January 27th in the McGinnis Chapel at Bettendorf. Burial in the National Cemetery at Rock Island.
