(Pete) Schwob, 76, of Eufaula, Okla., formerly of Wapello, died Friday night at his home. Services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home in Wapello with the Rev. Bill Young officiating. Visitation will be after noon Tuesday at the funeral home where a memorial has been established for the Diabetes Foundation. Burial will be in Parsons Cemetery. He was born Oct. 4, 1912, in Wapello, the son of Henry and Hazel Umphrey Schwob. He married Catherina (Kate) Peters on June 3, 1935, in Davenport. She died April 2, 1985. Mr. Schwob was of the Presbyterian faith. A 1930 graduate of Wapello High School, he was employed as a gas station attendant in Wapello and from 1944-1973 was employed by Eastern Iowa Light and Power in Wapello. He moved to Oklahoma in 1979. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Merlin (Shirley) Schneider of Hedrick; three grandchildren; four brothers, Harlan, Thomas, Robert and Richard, all of Wapello; two sisters, Mary Archibald and Virginia Stone, both of Wapello. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a sister. Muscatine Journal, Monday, Dec. 26, 1988
