Lucille "Lucy" Bailey, 93, of Muscatine, died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Unity Hospital. The Rev. Kimberly Bowles will officate. Casketbearers will be Reed Stout, Beau Bonnichsen, Casey Kaska, Roger Bailey, Kenny Bailey, and Mike Turner. Honorary casketbearers will be Jack Estle, Cal Bohling, Tom Waters, Robert Thomas and Andy Hafner. Burial will be at the Letts Cemetery. Following the internment, a time of food and fellowhip will be at the Letts United Methodist church. Memorials may be directed to the Letts United Methodist Church or the Letts Community Library. Sympathy notes may be left at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com Mrs. Bailey was born Sept 17, 1914, in Cranston, Iowa, the daughter of John and Frances (Idle) Harvey. She married G. Earl Bailey March 7, 1935, in Muscatine. She was a member of the Letts United Methodist Church. She farmed in the Letts area with her husband for many years until 1980, when they moved to Muscatine. After his death in 1990, she continued to be very active in managing and working on the farms with her longtime farm tenant, Mark Stout. She was often seen driving her own tractors, mowing and maintaining her farm ground. She will be deeply missed by her many nieces and nephews; three sisters-in-law, Imogene Bailey of Wapello, Dorothy Bailey of Letts and Evonne Bailey of Terrill; half-brother, John Howard Harvey and his wife, Debbie, of Muscatine. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two brothers, Edward and Ward Harvey; and a sister, Esther Turner. Muscatine Journal, Sept 19, 2007
