Reply to the message or author by clicking on the link below. *************************************************************************** MESSAGE: (#225434) Pearl Baker <http://iagenweb.org/boards/louisa/obituaries/index.cgi?rev=225434> AUTHOR: Judy Kelley DATE: 3/6/2009 at 21:04:44 Surnames: BAKER,LIEBERKNECHT,WERNER,DICKINSON Mrs. Pearl Baker Called By Death Mrs. Pearl Baker, 707 Newell Ave., Muscatine, died at 10:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 1970, at the University Hospital, Iowa City, of complications following an extended illness at the age of 81 years, 3 months, and 12 days. Born January 30, 1889, at rural Grandview, she was a life resident of that community. She was the daughter of Christopher and Mary Lieberknecht Werner. The former Pearl Werner married Ernest E. Baker July 26, 1927, at Washington, Iowa. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Muscatine where she taught a Sunday School class for 40 years, was superintendent of the Home Department for 49 years and a helper in that department for one year, member of various church organizations and the WCTU. Survivors are a twin sister, Mrs. Bertha Dickinson of Letts and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, one sister, four brothers and her parents. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. May 15 at the Ralph J. Wittich Funeral Home in Muscatine with Dr. J. Henry Teele officiating. Mrs. Floyd Scott was organist. Casket bearers were William Mull Jr., Henry Hammann, Dale Shelladay and Merlin Larson. Burial was in the Grandview cemetery. Unknown Newspaper
