Jean Bailey dies Tuesday H. Jean Bailey, 64, 402 Gamble died Tuesday, January 14, 1986, at University Hospitals in Iowa City. Funeral services were Friday, January 17, at 1:30 p.m. at Stacy-Lewis Chapel. Rev. Richard Faris officiated. Donna Belle Hughes was the organist and Brian and Kristie Cummings were the vocalists. Casketbearers were Darrel Randolph, James Sherlock, Larry Rutt, Ronald, Charles and Jim Woodruff. Burial was in the Columbus City Cemetery. Jean was born June 22, 1921, at Lousia Center (rural Louisa County), the daughter of Arthur and Pearl Martin Woodruff. She married Paul Bailey, June 22, 1940, at Kahoka, Missouri. Jean was a bookkeeper at Economart for 25 years, retiring in 1981. She was a member of the Columbus Junction United Methodist Church and a charter member of Columbus Business and Professional Women. Survivors include husband, Paul of Columbus Junction; daughter, Sandy Clark of Iowa City; three granddaughters; one great-grandson; one brother, Kenneth of Rock Island; one sister, Mrs. Evelyn Randolph of Silvis, Illinois.
