Art Bailey, 64, Letts, died Saturday, Sept. 12 at University Hospitals, Iowa City. Services were Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Letts. The Rev. Donald Campbell officiated. Mrs. Noel Townsley was organist. Pallbearers were Dale Hafner, Chet Hafner, Marvin Thompson, Todd Williams, Roger Swick and Richard Brockett. Burial was in Letts Cemtetery. Visitation was Monday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Chapel where a memorial was established. Mr. Bailey was born Jan. 12, 1923 at Letts, a son of George and Mabel Wagner Bailey. He was united in marriage on Sept. 19, 1948 to Dorothy Lange at Letts. He was a member of the United Methodist Church at Letts. He had worked as a machinist at HON in Muscatine for 21 years. Survivors include his wife; one son, Larry Bailey, Grand Forks, N.D.; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Susan) Langstaff, Columbus Junction, and Mrs. Dan (Karen) Schaafveld, North Liberty; six grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Bailey, Muscatine, and Lyman Bailey, Terril, Iowa; and one sister, Mrs. John (Elna) Lafayette, Riverdale, Iowa.
