Arthur Bailey, 64, dies H. Arthur Bailey, 64, of Letts, died Saturday, September 12, 1987, at University Hospital, Iowa City. Services were held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Letts United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Campbell officiating. Mrs. Noel Townsely was organist. Caasket bearers were Dale Hafner, Chet Hafner, Marvin Thomas, Todd Williams, Roger Swick and Richard Brockett. Burial was in the Letts Cemetery in charge of Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home. Mr. Bailey was born January 12, 1923, at Letts, the son of George Washington and Mabel Elizabeth Wagner Bailey. He married Dorothy Bertha Lange on September 19, 1948, at the Letts United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Letts United Methodist Church and was a machinist at Hon Industries in Muscatine for 21 years. He is survived by his wife; one son, Larry A. Bailey of Grand Forks, North Dakota; two daughters, Mrs. Gene (Susan) Langstaff of Columbus Junction and Mrs. Dan (Karen) Schaafveld of North Liberty; six grandchildren; two brothers, G. Ea__ Bailey of Muscatine and Lyman Bailey of Terrill, Iowa, and one sister, Mr. John (Elna_) Lafayette of Riverdale, Iowa. Two brothers, Phillip and Raymond preceded him in death.
