Skipto DATE: 3/5/2009 at 16:03:26 Surnames: SHIPMAN,PETERS,WEBER,GILKEY,COOPER,MILLER,GARDEN,TORBERT Wapello Republican, Thursday, July 26, 1956. Mrs. Saidee Shipman, 75, died at 3:15 a.m. Monday in Muscatine County Hospital. She had been ill for a year and was a patient most of that time in Restopia Nursing Home in Columbus Junction operated by he daughter, Mrs. William Gilkey. Mrs. Shipman was born Aug. 30, 1880, at Wapello, the daughter of Christian and Ella Jane Peters Weber. She was married Aug. 20, 1902, to Leonard J. Shipman, who died Jan. 20, 1936. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Gilkey and Mrs. Elza Cooper, Elkhordn, Wis.; a son, Leonard J. Shipman, Clinton, Wis.; two brothers, State Senator George W. Weber, Columbus Junction and Benjamin Weber, Denver, Colo.; three sisters, Mrs. William Miller, Maryville, Mo.; Mrs. Cecil Garden, West Des Moines; and Mrs. David Torbert, Leesburg, Fla.; seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Stacy Funeral Home at Columbus Junction, Rev. George C. Pennington, pastor of the Methodist Church in charge. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery.
