Paul C. "Cliff" Allen of Letts, 77, died Friday evening, January 13, 1984, at Muscatine General Hospital. The son of Frank and Mary Haas Allen, he was born November 26, 1906, in Grandview. He married Gail McCulley November 27, 1926, in Grandview. Mr. Allen had managed the Letts Lumber Company for many years and for 12 years had worked at Beach Lumber and Supply in Muscatine, retiring in 1976. He was a lifetime resident of the Grandview and Letts communities and was a member of the Letts Bible Church. Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Janice) Retherford of Muscatine; one son, Wayne of Letts; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. His parents, and brother and one sister preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Letts Bible Church with Rev. Daniel Fisher officiating. Vicki Hubbs was the organist and vocalist accompanied by Diane Fisher on the piano. Casket bearers were Chester Feller, Paul Liebbe, Lynn Peterson, Terry Drawbaugh, Donald Siewert and Larry Gage. Honorary casket bearers were George Foor, Jake Starkweather and Henry Cowles. Burial was in the Grandview Cemetery under the direction of the Dudgeon-McCulley Funner Home of Wapello.
