Plumb, 100, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. An Eastern Star service will begin the service. Visitation is one hour before the service. Burial will be in Wapello Cemetery. Mrs. Plumb died Thursday June 1, 1955 at Wapello Nursing and Care Center. She taught 15 years in rural Louisa County and later tutored students several years in her home. Hazel Matson married Leonard Plumb June 10, 1915 in Morning Sun. He died Dec 18, 1973. She was a graduate of the former Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. Mrs. Plumb was a member of First United Presbyterian Church Chapter 257, Order of Eastern Star, both of Wapello; Royal Neighbors of America; Louisa County Retired Teachers Association; and Wapello Senior Citizens. Memorials may be made to the church or the nursing home. Survivors include daughters, Leona (Mrs. William) Sadler, Blair, Nebraska, and Lucille (Mrs. Rex) Davison, Davenport; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
