Harry Allen, 92, Morning Sun, died Saturday, Oct. 18 at Morning Sun. He was born in Roseville, Ill., the son of William and Barbara Powell Allen. He married Lena Thompson on June 15, 1915 at Wapello. She died in Jan. 4, 1975. Surviving are four daughters, Lela Taylor of Mathersville, Ill., Betty Chappell of Canton, Mich., Shirley Self, Sturgeon, Mo., and Marjorie Williams of Galesburg, Ill.; three sons, Leroy (Bud) Allen of Washington, Robert Allen of Florence, S.C. and William Allen of Canton, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Visitation was held Monday evening at Pierce Funeral Home. Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Funeral Home. The Rev. Dick Clark officiated. Pallbearers were Eugene Kreiger, Frank Mauer, Roy Watson, Robert K. Nichols Sr., George Griffith and Cecil Bryant. Merry Bonar and Sherry Robb assisted with flowers. Geneva Samuels was organist. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery.
