Funeral services for Faye Lois Algoe, 86, of Columbus City, were held on Thursday, January 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction. Faye died Monday, January 17, 1994 at Washington County Hospital, Washington, Iowa after a brief illness. Rev. Lynne Smith conducted service. Graveside committal services will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Winterset Cemetery at Winterset, Iowa. Faye Lois Lightner was born on July 25, 1907 in West View, Virginia to Clarence and Martha Sellers Lightner. Faye married Raymond W. Algoe April 5, 1935 in Des Moines, Iowa. Faye was a homemaker and did help Raymond run the family business which was a general store in Minnesota. Survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Lyle (Kathleen) Clark, Columbus City, Mrs. Richard (Mary) Sheets, Rochester, Minnesota; a son, David Algoe, St. Cloud, Minnesota; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Faye was preceded in death by her parents, a son Raymond, four brothers and three sisters.
