Allen, age 70, of Columbus City, Iowa, will be held on Friday, September 3, 1999, at 10:30 a.m. at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home in Columbus Junction, Iowa. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. at Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home Thursday with a Masonic Service to be held at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his memory and may be left at the funeral home. Cecil Burdette Allen was born on July 29, 1929 at Conesville, Iowa, the son of Elton and Ina A. Heald Allen. He married Helen Johnson in 1952 then he later married Darlene Diller-Faler on July 6, 1966 in Columbus City, Iowa. He was a member of the Columbus City United Methodist Church, and Columbus City Masonic Lodge #107 A.F. & A.M. He was a 32 degree Mason. He was a past Methodist Adult Fellowship President, and past Little League coach. Cecil especially loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Darlene of Columbus City; a son Jeffrey Allen and his wife Sally of Solon, Iowa; daughters Catharine Williams-Hinrichs and husband Ron of Tipton, Iowa, Beth Faler of North Liberty, Iowa, Rebecca Noethe and husband Lee of Dyersville, Iowa; 8 grandchildren; two brothers, Gerald Allen of Columbus Junction and Max Allen and his wife Helen of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law, Margaret Allen.
