She was born Oct. 8, 1907 in Atalissa, Iowa, the daughter of Stuart H. and Irene (Otto) Archibald. She graduated from high school in Wapello. She married E. Pierce Baker on Dec. 31, 1924 in Fort Madison, Iowa. They resided in Iowa until moving to Chippeway Falls in 1982. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Ruth E. Kreiger, formerly of Chippewa Falls. She is survived by her husband Pierce; one daughter, Katherine (Joseph) Mandelert, Chippewa Falls; one grandson, James Mandelert, Chippewa Falls; one granddaughter, Julie Korpady, Madison; and one great-grandson, Mitchell Mandelert, Chippewa Falls. Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Monday, August 17 at the Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Barry Boyer of the First Presbyterian Church, Chippewa Falls, officiated at the services. Burial was at the Forest Hill Cemetery. The family prefers memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church of Chippewa Falls, Endowment Trust Fund. Wapello Republican, August 27, 1987
