Peters Died Thursday Afternoon Mrs. W. T. Peters of the Bard Community died suddenly at 3:30 last Thursday afternoon following a stroke of apoplexy with which she was stricken a few hours earlier while engaged in the duties of her home. Lillian Malcolm, daughter of Frank Malcolm and wife, was born near Woodhull, Illinois, November 7th, 1867. She grew to young womanhood in that community and was united in marriage to George Gritten. For a number of years they made their home in Muscatine. To this union one child was born, Della, who preceded her mother in death. Several years after the death of Mr. Gritten she was united in marriage to W.T. Peters at Muscatine and a new home was established in Louisa County near Bard. To this union three children were born who with the husband survive. These children are Sadie Pearl, wife of Orlando Ludwig, of Troy, Illnois; the second, Gracie, is married but her husband's name and their address are unknown; the third, Gertrude, lives in the home community. Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Louisa Center church by the Rev. V.A. Bloomquist of Columbus Junction. The church choior sang three appropriate selections accompanied by Miss Helen Grim at the piano. The flowers were in charge of Grace and Anna May Martin. Pallbearers were: W.H. Dayton, John Martin, Hilton Pretz, J.J. Cutkomp, Fred Rahmiller and Warren Martin. Burial in Wapello Cemetery. Columbus Gazette, Thursday, July 14, 1938
