Joyce Allison, age 88, a resident of New London for many years and formerly of Kansas City, Missouri, died Thursday afternoon, October 31, 1991 at the New London Care Center. She was born September 30, 1903 at Annapolis, Missouri, the daughter of Lee and Margaret Hake Jackson. She married John W. Allison November 8, 1924 at the home of her parents in Reynolds County, Missouri. He died May 8, 1967. Mrs. Allison had sold Avon Products for many years. Survivors include a son, Gene Allison of Westville, Oklahoma; a daughter Nina 'Garrels' Allison of New London; nine grandchildren, Don Alexander, Jr. of Kansas City, Mo., Carolyn Byrum of Mt. Pleasant, Vickie Manley of Kansas City, Mo., Bob Allison of El Campo, Tx., Wes Kendall of LaHarpe, Il., DeAnne Noel and Susan Cooper both of Houston, Tx., Kay Kendall of Mt. Pleasant, and Cynthia Husler of Decatur, Ill., thirteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Otis Jackson of Bonne Terre, Mo., and two sisters, Ruth Swanson of Camanche and Cora Campbell of Bettendorf; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; two daughters, Beryl as an infant and Ruby Alexander; one brother Otto Jackson; and six sisters, Ruey Kendall, Zella Woodruff, Mary Tobert, Nola Waechter, Selma Thompson and Opal Jackson. Funeral service for Joyce Allison was held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, November 4, 1991 at Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home at Wapello, Iowa, with Rev. Arthur Brent officiating. Bob Allison presented the eulogy, Don Alexander, Jr., Bob Allison, and Wes Kendall presented a special song, 'Will the Circle Be Unbroken', and Phyllis McCulley provided the organ Music. Casket bearers were Don Alexander, Jr., Bob Allison, Wes Kendall, Mike Byrum, Richard Manley, and Todd Byrum. Honorary bearers were Dick Murphy, Bill Murphy, Herb Hahn, Joe Huddleston, John Coleman, and Dwayne Leichty. Burial followed at the Harrison Cemetery at Wapello.
