Visitation: 1 p.m. until service time Thursday, funeral home. LETTS, Iowa--Alfred L Bailey, 67, Letts, died Monday, Nov. 6, 2006, at the Washington County Hospital, Washington, of pancreatic cancer. He requested that all who attend his visitation and funeral service dress casual; come as you are. Burial will be at the Letts Cemetery with military honors being provided by the combined units of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1565 and American Legion Post 27. A memorial fund has been established at the funeral home. Online condolences may be left for the Bailey family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Mr. Bailey was born June 11, 1939 in Greenwich, N.Y. the son of Leroy and Helen Maragaret Crowley, Bailey. He married Theresa Ennello on Aug. 11, 1962. He served with the U.S. Navy from 1960-65 aboard the U.S.S. Franklin-Roosevelt, in Jackson, Fla. He was a truck driver through-out most of his life. He later was the owner and operator of Bad Guys Trucking and worked construction the last years of his life. He was a former member of Muscatine American Legion Post 27. He believed in simplicity, hard work and earning your way through life. He had a steel exterior and a gentle heart, always ready to lend a helping hand to others. Survivors include his wife; children, Donald Bailey and wife Marcene, Mary Jane McCleary and husband Gary, Rebecca Garner and husband Laramie, Theresa Kincade and husband Tracy and A.J. Vogel and wife Ashley; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Wayne and David Bailey. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Frederick Joseph Bailey; a daughter, Sherra Lynn Bailey; and a sister, Rebecca Jean Bailey. Nov. 8, 2006, Muscatine Journal
