Reply to the message or author by clicking on the link below. *************************************************************************** MESSAGE: (#226572) Mrs. Mathilda Plumb 1870-1951 <http://iagenweb.org/boards/louisa/obituaries/index.cgi?rev=226572> AUTHOR: Shirley Plumb DATE: 3/11/2009 at 21:10:53 Surnames: PLUMB,LERCH Mrs. Mathilda Plumb Mrs. Mathilda Plumb, 80, a resident of this vicinity the greater part of her life, died at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 1951 at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Wehmeyer, 532 West Eighth Street, Davenport. A native of Fehmarn, Germany, Mrs. Plumb was born Aug. 31,1870 to Heinrich Peter Theodor Andrews and Mathilde Dorothea Lerch. She came to America at the age of 13, and her marriage to Stephen Pope Plumb took place in Davenport, Aug. 31, 1889. Her husband, two sons, two brothers, four sisters and five grandchildren preceded her in death. Survivors include a son, Leo A. Plumb, Wapello; her daughter, Mrs. Wehmeyer; two brothers, Ben H. Andrews, Moline, and Theodore Andrews, Harrisonville, Mo; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body was removed to Runge Mortuary. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.
